Program Officer, Mathematics & Computer Science

Kelsey Siegel (she/her) is the Program Officer for Mathematics and Computer Science at MƒA. In this role, she concentrates on fellowship engagement and shaping MƒA’s mathematics and computer science programming for teachers.

Before joining MƒA, Kelsey taught mathematics for 13 years at both middle and high school levels, most recently at Manhattan Business Academy. She served in a wide range of school leadership roles, including a NYC DOE Model Teacher, mentor teacher, math department lead, and STEM coach for the NYC Summer STEM Institute. As a former MƒA Master Teacher and Master Teacher II+ Fellow for 10 years, Kelsey led workshops on LEGO robotics, Snorkl, and the mathematics of movement. 

Kelsey earned a B.A. in Mathematics and Dance from Wesleyan University, where she wrote her thesis about the mathematics of modern dance, and an M.S.Ed. in Adolescent Education (Grades 7–12) with a concentration in Mathematics from St. John’s University. She lives with her husband, dog, and two children, and in her free time she loves yoga, cooking, dancing, and spending time in nature.
