The MƒA Thursday Think Speaker Series brings accomplished speakers who dive into cutting-edge topics in STEM education to MƒA. These talks, held once a month throughout the school year, invite MƒA teachers and the general public to learn and engage with these thought leaders and professionals in mathematics, science, and education.

Failure is often seen as a stepping stone to success, so why wait for it to happen by chance?

In this talk, Dr. Manu Kapur describes the concept of productive failure and demonstrates how intentionally designing for failure can lead to deeper learning. He also explores practical strategies for creating safe, constructive environments where failure becomes a tool for conceptual understanding, creativity, and knowledge transfer.

Discover how embracing and planning for failure can transform your approach to teaching and learning.
