The MƒA Equity Webinars Series invites nationally recognized educators to share ideas that support equity within STEM. Following an interactive presentation by the speaker, Master Teachers have the opportunity to discuss how these ideas might be applied in their own school environments in small groups.
In this webinar, Dr. Kyle Whipple presented both the big picture of LGBTQ+ inclusion and the pragmatics of how to best support these students every day through the lens of critical care pedagogy. He shared examples relevant to all grades and content areas, while also highlighting specific examples like biological sex diversity in humans and the mathematics behind societal changes, such as the prevalence of they/them pronouns.
