Farrell Brody is a New Teacher Advisor at Math for America New York, where he offers guidance and support to MƒA Fellows within the program.
A retired New York City public school teacher, Farrell taught mathematics for 34 years at both the middle and high school levels. He spent his teaching career in Brooklyn at Francis Scott Key Junior High School, the George W. Wingate High School and the High School of Telecommunication Arts and Technology. Farrell also provided professional development as a mathematics coach in Region 9 in Manhattan. He has conducted numerous workshops at both the school and regional levels on such topics as the new Integrated Algebra curriculum, lesson planning, helping at-risk students and SAT instructional strategies. Farrell is also the Mathematics Coach at West Brooklyn Community High School.
Farrell graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with degrees in Mathematics, Psychology and Secondary Education. He holds a Master of Science in the Teaching of Mathematics from Lehman College. Farrell loves baseball, and holds season tickets to see the Brooklyn Cyclones play at Keyspan Park in Coney Island.
