Beverly Y. Davidman is an Early Career Advisor at Math for America New York. In this role, she mentors and supports MƒA Early Career Fellows within the program.
With over 30 years of mathematics classroom teaching experience, Beverly’s most recent position was as a mathematics coach at Park East High School in Manhattan. She has held academic appointments as adjunct professor of mathematics education at New York University and facilitator/adjunct professor at CUNY. In addition, Beverly has served in numerous educational consulting roles, including acting as a member of the Screening and Selection Committee at Math for America and panel member and curriculum writer for the NYC Department of Education Chancellor’s Mathematics, Science and Technology Curriculum Framework Committee for Instruction in public schools.
In addition to her membership in the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics since 1985, Beverly has been featured in the video series “Approaching the Vision of NCTM Standards,” produced by the Fund for New York City Public Education. Beverly has received the Citibank Success Fund Award for Excellence in Teaching and Disney American Teacher Award for outstanding mathematics teacher in America. She has been featured regularly in the media, including an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show to highlight the achievement of teachers. Beverly lives in Manhattan and enjoys travel, reading, ballroom dancing and Spanish language study.
