Kristen Baranowski assumed the role of associate director at Math for America in January 2007. Prior to her work at Math for America, Kristen was the director of operations for the Academy for Urban School Leadership, a non-profit organization in Chicago, a program and grant manager for the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning at the University of Illinois at Chicago, an AmeriCorps NCCC corps member, and a senior accountant for a large public accounting firm.

Kristen is a CPA who completed her undergraduate education at Villanova University and earned a Master of Public Policy, with a concentration in education policy, from the University of Chicago.

After living in Chicago for six years, Kristen is excited about being back in New York and working to improve the quality of math teachers in our public schools.
