Kady Safar joined Math for America as Assistant to the Executive Director in September of 2007. Prior to joining the Math for America team, Kady was a public school teacher, most recently teaching fifth grade in the Bronx. As a bilingual teacher in Detroit, Michigan, Kady was awarded the Star Teacher Award for Excellence, and facilitated staff development at the district level.

Kady received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin, completed a Bilingual (Spanish) Teaching Certificate at Wayne State University, and her Master's Degree in Special Education at the Bank Street College of Education. Kady's schooling and work experiences in education focused on working in urban, high-needs schools, where she was active in school reform policies.
