PETER MULLER

Peter Muller is an Advisory Director of Morgan Stanley and provides ongoing counsel to Process Driven Trading, a proprietary trading group in the Institutional Securities Division which he started and headed from 1993 to 2001.

Prior to joining the Firm in 1992 as a Vice President in the Institutional Equity Division, Mr. Muller was with BARRA for seven years. He was elected Principal in 1993, and Managing Director in 1996, and Advisory Director in 2001. He created the BARRA Brainteaser, a monthly investment-related puzzle.

Mr. Muller was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and graduated with honors from Princeton University with a B.A. in mathematics in 1985. He is a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Investment Management and has previously served in the same capacity for the Financial Analysts Journal and the Journal of Portfolio Management. Mr. Muller has served on the Advisory Board for both MIT's Track in Financial Engineering (Sloan School) and NYU/Courant’s Program in Financial Mathematics. He is Chairman, Board of Advisors, for Chalkstream Capital Group, a private investment fund.

Mr. Muller’s published research includes work on financial optimization, mortgage prepayments, and equity valuation models. Outside of finance, Muller has released two albums as a pianist/singer-songwriter, and enjoys poker, scrabble, and surfing.
