CONFERENCES & WORKSHOPS

Here is a list of math-related conferences and workshops.

  • College Board Workshops and Conferences
    • The College Board sponsors a variety of workshops and conferences on AP topics, including an intensive National Conference in the summer.  AP conference and workshops provide novice and experienced teachers of AP classes with an opportunity to learn new techniques, and strategies to enrich the AP curriculum.
  • Institute for Advanced Study / Park City Mathematics Institute
    • According to the website, "The Institute for Advanced Study/IAS/Park City Mathematics Institute (PCMI) is designed for mathematics educators at the secondary and post-secondary level, as well as mathematics researchers and students at the post-secondary level."
  • Key Curriculum Press Professional Development Center
    • The Key Curriculum Press offers many workshops and institutes to show teachers how to integrate Key Curriculum products, including The Geometer's Sketchpad, into classroom teaching.  Key Curriculum Press offers an intensive Summer Institute, as well as a wide variety of customized workshops.
  • The Mathematical Association of America Meetings
    • MAA sponsored meetings cover a wide variety of mathematical topics.  Several highlights from the 2005 MathFest national meeting include a mini-course on the mathematics of presidential elections and a town meeting entitled College Calculus: Responding to Changing Demographics.
  • National Council of Teachers of Mathematics
    • NCTM sponsors a Regional Conference in the fall and a National Conference in the spring.  Both conferences contain exhibits, presentations and mini-courses on a variety of topics, geared around a common theme.
  • T3 : Teaching Teachers with Technology
    • The T3 Teaching Teachers with Technology conferenes are run by Texas Instruments to help teachers integrate technology into their classrooms.  Regional conferences are held throughout the year and provide both novice and experienced users of technology with new techniques and take-away materials.
