 - Know and love math
- Demonstrate exemplary teaching and leadership skills
- Enjoy mentoring and collaborating with colleagues
- Teach mathematics in grades 5-12 in New York City public schools
- Have at least three years of mathematics teaching experience
- Hold certification to teach in New York State, and spend at least 60% of their time teaching mathematics courses
- Take the ETS Praxis II Math Content exams
- Applicants must take two Praxis tests; Mathematics: Content Knowledge (0061) and Mathematics: Proofs, Models, and Problems, Part 1 (0063)
- Praxis exams must be taken by March 14, 2009
- Typical Praxis scores for MƒA Master Teacher Fellows range from 160 to 200 on the Mathematics Content Knowledge test and from 175 to 200 on the Proofs, Models and Problems test.
