Position Overview:
MƒA seeks a full-time receptionist and office assistant to serve as the frontline for all external communications while managing an effective internal flow of information to the MƒA eight person staff. This position will also facilitate a broad range of administrative tasks to ensure the efficient day to day operation of MƒA’s New York office. We are a small but growing office and are looking for an energetic and friendly personality to foster a spirit of responsiveness and teamwork.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director, the Receptionist will:

  • Ensure an exceptional level of customer service by greeting, assisting and managing all callers and visitors
  • Prepare and mail all outgoing communications
  • Operate copiers, fax machines and other standard office equipment
  • Maintaining presentable and comfortable reception and office areas
  • Maintain filing and other clerical systems
  • Order supplies and other equipment, materials, and services as needed
  • Assist in bookkeeping, vendor relationships and other duties identified by the Associate Director
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Executive Director as needed


Additional Qualifications:

  • Excellent oral, written, and organization skills
  • Knowledge of, and experience with Microsoft Office
  • Self-starter demonstrating the ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Flexible to changing priorities, needs of staff, Fellows and management
  • Ability to meet deadlines
